Hello to everyone again. I am glad to say that this will be one of the last postings seeing that we have less than two months left in Afghanistan. The past month has been busy, and not just because of missions either. On top of our normal duties we have had to start packing up our personal items and mail them home. Although the task might be boring, we are more than willing to give up any extra items we have for the last of our trip. We have also done multiple inventories to make sure all the equipment that needs to stay here stays here. (It is always better to get it out of the way than wait for the last minute.) The days can be pretty long, but in the end it is more than worth it. This month we also had a change of command ceremony for our company commander. After twenty months CPT. Matthews has stepped down from her command of the company. Our new commander, CPT. Engelmeier, look forward to trying to keep the high standards that we have had for over the past year.

Missions have been the same for the most part. We have worked with the Afghan police daily to provide our area with the safety it needs. They have learned a lot since we have been here and they now how to handle themselves when we leave. We have also run a lot of patrols finding any routes that might have been damaged over the winter. Now that the snow has finally melted, we can resume missions almost daily.  After more than a year, nothing has changed much over here. We hope the same is true for back home.

Well, honestly that is about all we have. For those of you counting we have about 49 days left. This turns out to be 1,190 hours or…71,600 minutes or if you like…4.3 million seconds. We look forward to those numbers being zero and being home with all of you.

We will see all of you next month!
